The Good Landlord Charter in the Trafford Neighbourhood

The Charter team have been out and about in Trafford over the month of October. We have been getting out to local neighbourhoods to meet landlords, agents, partners and tenants through a series of events in the borough.

Landlords came to hear about the benefits of joining the Charter, and the chance to become eligible for up to £30,000 of grant funding to retrofit homes via the Warm Homes Local Grant. Across the three events held at Stretford Public Hall, Sale Waterside, and Altrincham Library, landlords and agents joined to learn more and sign up to the Charter.

Friends organisations were also involved, with several locally based groups joining a conversation in Stretford on the Charter and housing issues within the local area. Cllr Rose Thomson, Executive Member for Housing, Partnerships and Live Well, joined the group and shared her views on the value of the Charter in the context of the Renters' Rights Act.

Claire Vibert, Network and Learning Manager for the Charter, said: "It was really valuable to take the Charter out into the community and meet landlords, agents and partners in the places they live and work. It gave us a great opportunity to understand more about renting in Trafford, and I hope that the relationships we made will go from strength to strength."

Are you based in Trafford but missed our Neighbourhood Events? Don't worry – just get in touch (link) and we'll get back to you.

Look out for our next neighbourhood events: we're planning to make our way around all ten boroughs of Greater Manchester, so if you have a suggestion of how to reach more landlords, agents or partners in your area, let us know.
